A handcrafted saree in handwoven Chanderi. This saree features the beautiful craft of Nui Shibori, as practised in Japan. In its more sophisticated form, designs patterns are drawn onto the fabric on which running stitches are done in a manner such that the threads can be pulled and the pulled fabric is then dyed in the desired colour. Because the entire process is hand done and local conditions vary, each dyed fabric has a unique design. The combination of needlemarks, the dyeing pattern and the colours used is that which lends the beauty to the craft. Besides Shibori, this saree also has delicate hand stitch details and floral embroidery pattern in pristine white. The chanderi saree in wispy powder blue is paired with a boat neck handblock printed blouse in modal silk.
